The Texas Lacy Game Dog Association (TLGDA) and United Blood Trackers (UBT) are hosting a Blood Trailing Seminar and UBT Testing Event on Saturday and Sunday, open to all dog breeds and handlers. This event is designed for beginner or advanced handlers with or without their dogs. This seminar is also designed for those who want to learn more about blood tracking dogs for the recovery of wounded game.

What is the 2025 Blood Trailing Seminar?

Are there any prerequisites for attending?
No prerequisites are required, but participants are encouraged to have basic obedience training with their dogs.

What should I bring to the seminar?
Participants should bring their dogs, appropriate training gear (leashes, harnesses, etc.), water, and any necessary personal items. Be sure to check the weather and bring appropriate clothing as many events are outside.

Can I bring multiple dogs?
Yes, handlers may bring multiple dogs. However, each dog must be registered separately and you might only be able to work one dog at a time. Please speak with TLGDA member that reaches out to you for final costs and options for multiple dogs

Are there any age restrictions for dogs?
Dogs of all ages are welcome, but they should be old enough to participate in physical activities. Puppies should be at least 6 months old.

Will there be opportunities for hands-on training?
Yes, the seminar will include practical field exercises where participants can practice blood trailing with their dogs under the guidance of experienced trainers.

What are the registration fees?
Registration fees vary based on attendance type. The seminar fee is listed on event page. Each attendee will be contacted by a TLGDA member once pre-registered to then reserve lodging and cost of additional meals.
